"As a preschool teacher, I enjoy knowing the children are learning without realizing it, and that throughout the process I get to be a trusted, loving influence. My favorite part of the day is seeing all the little smiling faces."
Assistant Teacher, 3 year old class, and Lead Teacher, Full STEAM Ahead
Since earning her bachelor’s degree in child and family studies, Jen has had a varied education career, including working with autistic children, teaching in a university childcare center, and helping education majors work toward to their degrees. She and her family moved to Hollis in 2016 and she first experienced HPS as a parent. Just as the school was a great fit for her children, it turned out to be a good fit for her professionally and she was thrilled to join the staff. Jen has worked mostly in play-based environments and believes children learn so much when they are playing, discovering the world on their own and having fun. She develops her curriculum as she gets to know her students, basing it on their interests and making sure to involve as many areas of development as possible.
Jen lives in Hollis with her husband, two children, and one lovable rescue dog. She enjoys creating art, such as painting and wood burning, and staying active playing soccer, riding her bike, hiking, and participating in various winter sports.
